she designed a sea-inspired typeface

Makreel

I started drawing this typeface when we were eating mackerel for dinner. More importantly it was inspired by my difficulty of reading - dislexia if you like - which is manifested in the hardship of following the lines. By letting the letters stand on "platform shoes" a remarkable baseline is created. This becomes an aid for the eye, and prevents the reader from getting lost in the sea of text.
