she photographed motion on spring nights

How to capture motion in the still image? How to catch the light in the darkness? How to turn the obvious to abstract andthe everyday to payful? This project was initiated upon a photography class assignment with the goal of studying the CMYK colour system, and incorporating it in a work. Since one of my fascinations are colorful leggings and dancing legs, I wanted to base my work on them. The process started with a research on imagery containing leggings or tights, from which the sexist, machoist nature of these pictures became bisible. Female legs were mostly depicted as sex-objects, means of seduction. I wanted to react on this in a playful way, showing the legs as creatures that are the sources of their own cheerfulness, slowly transforming into an abstract composition.
